Ontario’s Small Claims Court hears civil claims for money or the return of personal property valued up to $50,000. This is a reminder of the current jurisdiction, not an announcement of a new September increase. Toronto uses OCPP for filing
Toronto moved to the Ontario Courts Public Portal on October 14, 2025. Court staff transfer documents accepted for filing into Case Center for use at hearings. OCPP is the filing route; Case Center is the document-sharing and hearing platform. Follow the court’s account and access instructions.
Check the route for the court handling your case
The general filing page directs online Small Claims submissions outside Toronto to Small Claims Court Submissions Online. It also lists mail and in-person options. Email filing is permitted only in limited circumstances, including where the hearing or required filing is five business days or less away. Check the applicable court instructions before submitting.
