The worker program starts with an eligible Yukon employer.
The employer—not the foreign worker—submits the 2026 expression of interest. Worker streams are Skilled Worker, Critical Impact Worker and Express Entry. Entrepreneurs use the separate Yukon Business Nominee Program.
Employer-led
A qualifying full-time, year-round offer is required and the employer demonstrates recruitment and eligibility.
Three worker streams
Critical Impact Worker, Skilled Worker and Yukon Express Entry.
2026 allocation
Yukon announced 282 worker nominations and two EOI intake periods for 2026.
Separate business program
YBNP uses its own eligibility and assessment grid for foreign entrepreneurs.
The NOC/TEER of the offer determines the worker stream.
| Stream | Core profile | Key requirement | NOC / TEER role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Critical Impact Worker | Worker with an eligible lower-TEER Yukon offer | Generally at least six months related experience and CLB/NCLC 4, plus employer rules | TEER 4–5 determines the stream |
| Skilled Worker | Qualified worker with an eligible skilled Yukon offer | Generally at least 12 months related experience; CLB 6 for TEER 0–1 or CLB 5 for TEER 2–3 | TEER 0–3 determines the stream and language |
| Yukon Express Entry | Federal Express Entry candidate with an eligible Yukon skilled offer | Valid federal profile plus Yukon employer and stream requirements | TEER 0–3 and federal primary-occupation consistency |
| Yukon Business Nominee Program | Experienced entrepreneur who will establish and actively manage a Yukon business | At least $300,000 liquid assets and $300,000 capital investment, plus business and personal criteria | Manager role must be NOC TEER 0 or 1; worker EOI does not apply |
2026 worker selection uses employer priorities.
Two completed intakes
Employers could submit EOIs January 19–30 and July 6–17, 2026. As of August 12, both periods have closed; selected employers were scheduled for invitation August 3–7 with applications due August 26.
Published priorities
Points are awarded for regulated health professionals, rural employers, candidates living and working in Yukon for at least one year, Yukon University graduates, Francophone/French-speaking candidates and certain temporary-measure cases.
Employer requirements
The employer normally has operated in Yukon for at least one year (two for non-profits), completed required recruitment and offers permanent full-time year-round work.
No automatic carry-over
An EOI is intake-specific. Employers follow the instructions for the relevant period and must not assume an uninvited submission carries into a later intake.
NOC is the switch between Critical Impact and Skilled Worker.
Use duties to identify the five-digit code before choosing the stream or language threshold. Employer advertising, offer, experience and forms should all describe the same occupation.
TEER 0–1
Skilled Worker generally requires CLB/NCLC 6 and at least 12 months of related work.
TEER 2–3
Skilled Worker generally requires CLB/NCLC 5 and related skilled experience.
TEER 4–5
Critical Impact Worker generally requires CLB/NCLC 4 and at least six months related experience.
Regulated health priority
Priority status does not replace Yukon professional licensing or the employer and worker eligibility tests.
