Manitoba issues 793 invitations in MPNP draw #279

Four selections produced 793 Letters of Advice to Apply

• Health occupations — 233 invitations to profiles declaring current Manitoba employment in NOC Broad Occupational Category 3.
• Francophone selection — 11 invitations to profiles that declared French as their language of communication with the MPNP and had a valid French-language test result.
• Completed post-secondary study in Manitoba — 508 invitations; the lowest-ranked invited profile had 825 points. The applicant or their spouse had to declare completed post-secondary education in Manitoba, subject to the draw's published notes.
• Strategic recruitment initiatives — 41 invitations: Employer Services 17, Ethnocultural Communities 7, Francophone Community 12, Regional Communities 3 and the temporary-public-policy initiative 2.

The 825-point threshold did not apply to every selection

Manitoba published a numerical minimum ranking score only for the completed-post-secondary-study selection. It did not publish a minimum score for the health, Francophone or strategic-recruitment selections, so 825 should not be presented as the overall cut-off for draw #279.

Of all 793 invitations, 272 were issued to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. This does not mean every invitation was issued through Express Entry.

An invitation is not yet a provincial nomination

A Letter of Advice to Apply allows the selected candidate to submit a complete MPNP application. The candidate must still meet the requirements of the applicable pathway, document the information in the EOI and comply with the submission deadline and instructions in their account.

A provincial nomination and federal permanent residence are separate decisions. Applicants linked to Express Entry must also keep their federal profile accurate and eligible.
