Feedback was open for 30 days
The Government of Yukon launched a public engagement on the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) on September 9, 2026. It ran for 30 days and closed on October 8, 2026.
The government says the review aims to confirm that the program meets Yukon's labour-market needs and operates fairly and transparently. It says demand for the program has grown while the number of nominations Canada allocates to Yukon has declined, which has put pressure on the program.
Three surveys covered different participants
- A public survey for Yukoners.
- An employer survey.
- A targeted survey for foreign nationals who took part in the YNP in the past three years. The Yukon Bureau of Statistics, which administers the surveys, contacts these people directly.
The review itself does not change current eligibility
The feedback will inform recommendations for improving the program, with changes expected to begin in 2027. The announcement does not close a stream, create a new intake or give priority to a person who completes a survey. Applications and eligibility remain governed by the program's current official instructions unless Yukon publishes a formal change.
A public findings report will follow
Yukon plans to publish a What We Heard report summarizing the findings. Any future change to eligibility, intake or selection should be assessed only when the government publishes its final wording and effective date.
