NTNP is built around an NWT employer, French ability or active business.
The territory offers Employer-Driven categories for different TEER levels, a Francophone Stream for bilingual workers and a Business Stream for active entrepreneurs.
Employer-Driven
Entry Level/Semi-Skilled, Skilled Worker and NWT Express Entry categories.
Francophone
A non-Express Entry route for workers in TEER 0–5 with French and English ability.
Business
For experienced entrepreneurs investing and actively operating in the territory.
Official public score
The 2026 Employer-Driven EOI grid totals 845 points across human capital, NWT labour-market and adaptability factors.
NOC, TEER and employer status determine the worker route.
| Route | Core profile | Central requirement | NOC / TEER role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry Level / Semi-Skilled | Worker in an eligible lower-TEER occupation | Eligible NWT employer and qualifying work/job conditions | TEER 4–5 normally directs this category |
| Skilled Worker | Qualified worker with an eligible NWT offer | Employer application plus worker qualifications and language | TEER 0–3 normally directs this category |
| NWT Express Entry | Skilled Worker candidate who also qualifies in federal Express Entry | Valid federal profile plus NTNP Skilled Worker requirements | NOC must satisfy both federal and territorial files |
| Francophone Stream | Bilingual worker with an NWT offer in TEER 0–5 | French CLB/NCLC 5 and English CLB 4, plus offer and employer rules | Available across all TEER groups; not an Express Entry stream |
| Business Stream | Entrepreneur who will buy or start and manage an NWT business | Investment, net worth, ownership, business plan, CLB 4 and active management | The manager role should be TEER 0/1; worker EOI score does not apply |
The public grid rewards direct NWT attachment.
845-point structure
Human capital is worth 375, NWT labour-market factors 340 and adaptability 130.
NOC-specific trades bonus
Forty points apply only to the official 11-code list: 72310, 72200, 72300, 72302, 72401, 72410, 72106, 72400, 72404, 72600 and 62200.
Location and local work
A job outside Yellowknife adds 50. NWT work may add up to 100, and an employer-specific permit for the nominating employer may add 50.
Business basics
The current page publishes minimum investment of $200,000 in Yellowknife or $100,000 outside, net worth of $500,000 or $250,000 respectively, and at least 33.3% ownership unless equity investment reaches $1 million.
NOC directly changes both category and score.
Confirm the five-digit NOC from duties before choosing TEER or the trades bonus. The calculator cannot decide whether a job belongs to the listed trade codes.
TEER points
The official EOI gives 100 points for TEER 0–1, 60 for TEER 2–3 and 30 for TEER 4–5.
Trades bonus
Do not claim 40 points because a title sounds like a trade; the NOC must be one of the 11 published codes.
Same or similar experience
General work experience points require experience in the same or a similar occupation as the nominating job.
Licensing
Meet territorial certification, registration or licensing requirements in addition to matching the NOC.
Calculate the official Employer-Driven EOI score
The calculator reproduces every row of the 845-point public grid, including four language abilities, NOC/TEER, the specific-trades list, location, NWT work, permit, education and family.
