September 18: Newfoundland and Labrador issues 62 invitations

The province’s official update confirms 62 invitations: 61 through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program and one through the Atlantic Immigration Program. No minimum score is published for this batch. The total should not be described as 62 NLPNP invitations.

September 17: PEI issues 195 invitations

Prince Edward Island issued 195 Labour and Express Entry invitations and zero Business Work Permit Entrepreneur invitations. The official table does not publish a numerical Labour and Express Entry cut-off. The figure covers the provincial Labour and Express Entry categories together; it is not a federal Express Entry draw.

New in this review: BC’s September 17 draw

British Columbia issued 33 invitations under its Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative on September 17, 2026, with a minimum score of 60. This supersedes September 10 as the latest Skills Immigration round on the official page reviewed today. The threshold is a provincial score, not Express Entry CRS. Candidates must meet the initiative’s requirements; an invitation is not a nomination or permanent residence approval.

Express Entry: latest published rounds

These are the latest rounds in IRCC’s data checked on September 18; they are not new September 18 draws. No general or French-language round appears between September 14 and 18 in that data.

September 17: work-permit job-offer guidance

IRCC updated its instructions on assessing genuine offers of employment. The revision distinguishes IMP and TFWP assessments and addresses outside information and procedural fairness when requesting employer evidence. Applicants and employers should review the updated instructions when preparing an employer-specific work-permit file or responding to concerns.

September 18: employer attestations and IMP compliance instructions

IRCC updated its employer-specific work-permit and employer-inspection instructions to reflect the current attestation text in the Employer Portal, align them with the revised job-offer genuineness guidance and remove outdated material. The notice does not describe a new work-permit stream or a new fee.

For employer-specific, LMIA-exempt IMP applications, employers must submit the offer before the worker applies and normally pay the $230 compliance fee. The instructions now set out the current attestations: a signed employment agreement in the worker’s chosen Canadian official language, the same occupation, wages and working conditions as the offer, and no recovery of the compliance fee or recruitment fees from the worker. Employers also certify compliance with employment and recruitment laws and reasonable efforts to provide an abuse-free workplace. IRCC can inspect supporting records and use outside information, subject to procedural fairness.

September 18: all Immigration Loans Program instructions updated

IRCC says all Immigration Loans Program instructions and agreements were updated. The program is mainly for refugees selected for resettlement, with access also described for Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot clients, certain public-policy applicants where their application guide allows it, and limited lender-of-last-resort cases.

The four loan types cover transportation to Canada, in-Canada transportation, initial settlement or labour-market access, and the right of permanent residence fee. The Assistance Loan is the only one paid as monetary assistance; other eligible costs are paid on the recipient’s behalf and added to one loan account. IRCC states that the loans are interest-free, payments begin 12 months after issue, and repayment terms run from 3 to 8 years depending on the total amount. The update does not create universal eligibility or announce loan forgiveness.

Alberta: recent results, not new draws today

The three rounds total 722 invitations. The official table reviewed today is dated September 9; absence of a newer listed result does not establish that no later selection occurred.

• September 1 — Alberta Opportunity Stream: 575 invitations; minimum score 56.
• September 3 — Accelerated Tech Pathway: 96 invitations; minimum score 60.
• September 9 — Dedicated Health Care Pathway, Express Entry: 51 invitations; minimum score 60.

Recent policy reminders

• Study permits: applications submitted from September 1, 2026 require CAD 23,448 for one person’s first-year living expenses outside Quebec, in addition to tuition and transportation.
• September 9 worker-study notice: eligible work-permit holders may study for up to six months or until their permit expires, whichever comes first. The temporary measure runs until December 31, 2027; full-time study still requires a study permit. Check eligibility before relying on it.
• Hong Kong pathways: new permanent residence applications closed after August 31, 2026. Applications received by that date continue to be processed.
