New Brunswick nominates eligible workers and entrepreneurs for permanent residence; IRCC makes the final federal decision. Atlantic Immigration Program is a separate employer-driven federal pathway and is not an NBPNP stream.

Two pilots
The Critical Worker Pilot and Private Career College Graduate Pilot operate under separate employer or graduate rules.
One active profile
The province normally permits one active INB expression of interest or application at a time; AIP uses a separate profile where required.
Two federal routes
A nomination may be aligned with Express Entry or proceed through the non-Express Entry PNP process.

May 4, 2026 Skilled Worker focus
Until further notice, new invitations under New Brunswick Experience are limited to healthcare, education and construction-trade sectors. Verify the current notice before relying on this priority.
EOI lifecycle
An EOI remains in the pool for up to 365 days. It does not guarantee an invitation, nomination or processing before expiry.
Business thresholds
Published basics include age 19–59, CLB 4, high school or equivalent, net worth of $500,000 (or $300,000 for agriculture), at least $150,000 investment and creation of one full-time job. The business must be operated before nomination is requested.
Invitation rounds
Skilled Worker, Express Entry and Strategic Initiative selections are published by category. The occupation, sector, date and score context of a past round do not promise a future invitation.
Use NOC 2021 to prove the job—not merely to name it.
Match the five-digit code to the lead statement and most main duties. Then check TEER, wage, employer, licensing and sector restrictions for the exact pathway.
Priority sectors
Healthcare, education and construction invitations depend on the actual NOC and duties, not an employer's industry label alone.
Job evidence
Reference letters, offer, work permit and INB profile should use consistent duties, dates, hours and occupation details.
Regulated work
A matching NOC does not authorize practice. Confirm New Brunswick licensing or certification separately.
Express Entry
The primary occupation and qualifying experience must remain consistent with the federal program and the NB pathway.

From pathway selection to permanent residence

Start with status, New Brunswick employment or education, French ability, Express Entry profile or business experience.

Compare duties and TEER, then verify sector restrictions, wage and provincial licensing.

Create the correct INB profile
Submit an EOI only when the pathway is accepting profiles and keep one active provincial file.

Wait for an invitation
Update the profile if circumstances change. An EOI is not a complete application.

Submit the provincial application
Meet the deadline and prove every factor claimed when invited.

Apply to IRCC after nomination
Use the Express Entry or non-Express Entry route shown in the nomination and maintain status and nomination conditions.
