PEI issues 90 Labour and Express Entry invitations
Prince Edward Island held a new provincial selection on October 7, 2026 and issued 90 invitations in its Labour and Express Entry category. The official result records no Business Work Permit Entrepreneur invitations for this round.
PEI did not publish a numerical minimum score or cut-off for the Labour and Express Entry invitations. An invitation allows the selected candidate to apply to the province; it is not itself a nomination or permanent-residence approval.
Ontario adds a 10-point top earnings tier
Ontario announced on October 5 that it had updated the Canadian work-experience earnings-history scoring factor under the Ontario Workforce Priority stream. The current grid awards 10 points when an applicant earned $80,000 or more in a single year in Canada.
- $80,000 or more in one year: 10 points
- $70,000 to $79,999: 8 points
- $50,000 to $69,999: 6 points
- $30,000 to $49,999: 4 points
- Less than $30,000: 0 points
What Ontario applicants should check
The earnings amount must come from one tax year and be supported by a single Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment issued within the last five years. Applicants should not combine income from different years to reach a higher band.
This is a change to Ontario's Expression of Interest scoring, not a new invitation round. Candidates still need to meet the stream's eligibility rules and receive an invitation before submitting a provincial nomination application.
