On November 16, the province initiated a targeted invitation process for permanent residency, specifically for these roles, issuing 12 PR invitations.

This initiative aligns with British Columbia’s Homes for People plan, aimed at addressing the housing and infrastructure needs over the next five years. The program is selectively inviting professionals in specific trades who possess a recognized B.C. trades qualification, thereby ensuring immediate contribution to the local job market. Recognized qualifications include those certified by SkilledTradesBC or affiliated apprenticeships.
